Get good with Articulate Storyline, our profession’s option of choice for developing online learning support. This open forum is for learning and sharing techniques and insights.

Studies have shown that learners are less tolerant of bad audio than they are of bad video. This month we talk about getting that audio right. Despite Storyline having some good audio capabilities, it just can't beat Audacity. Guest presenter Joe Waddington will compare the audio capabilities of Audacity and Storyline, and show how to get the best of both into the ears of your learners

John has been combining words, visuals, and sound in video and interactive media for clients and employers including Hitachi Data Systems, Farmers Insurance, Southern California Edison, Kaiser Permanente, and most of the Asian car companies.

Author of the book Scriptwriting for High Impact Video, he has taught at Cal State Northridge, lectured at UCLA, and conducted workshops at a variety of professional organizations and conferences.

An experienced coder, he has developed and managed numerous websites, and developed software used by clients including Saturday Night Live. After five years using Storyline at Genentech, he is now accepting assignments as an independent consultant.

Guest Presenter: Joe Waddington

Joe Waddington started his career as a probation officer. He took a training position to take a "break" from the caseload work, and never looked back. He's been in the training world for over 20 years. A geek at heart, he has always tried to be on the leading edge of technology in the workplace.

He has developed eLearning for three different state agencies and leads a community of practice for eLearning developers throughout state government, helping to identify best practices and set development standards.
